Privacy policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you visit the And Now We Drink website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to visitors in the United States.
About us
This website is operated by And Now We Drink. You can reach us through the contact form on this website.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form, it opens your own email app with your name, email address and message filled in. We only receive that information if you choose to send the email.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect:
- Device and browser information, such as browser type, operating system, screen size and language.
- Your IP address, which is used to estimate your general location (city, region and country).
- Usage information, such as the pages you view, the episodes you play, links you click, the website that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
- Error and performance information if something on the site breaks, so we can fix it.
- If enabled, session replays that show how pages were interacted with. Text you type into form fields is masked and is not recorded.
We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies, described below.
How we use information
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To understand how the site is used, which episodes are popular, and how to improve the site.
- To find and fix errors and keep the site secure and working properly.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not combine it with information from other websites to build a profile about you.
Analytics and service providers
We use the following service providers, which process information on our behalf:
- PostHog (PostHog, Inc.) provides product analytics and error tracking, with data stored in the United States. See the PostHog privacy policy.
- Vercel (Vercel Inc.) hosts the website. Its servers log basic request information, such as IP addresses, for security and reliability. Vercel Web Analytics, which we also use, does not use cookies. See the Vercel privacy policy.
Episode videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube does not store cookies on your device unless you play a video. Once you press play, Google’s privacy policy applies.
We do not sell or share your personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other US state privacy laws. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Your choices
- Opt out of analytics. Choose “Opt out of analytics” in the cookie notice, or select “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of any page at any time. This turns off PostHog in that browser and removes their cookies.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out and turn analytics off automatically.
- Do Not Track. There is no agreed standard for responding to older “Do Not Track” browser signals, so we do not respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control as described above.
- Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (see below).
California residents
This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy, to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), applies to us.
What we collected in the past 12 months.
- Identifiers, such as IP address, cookie and device identifiers, and, if you email us, your name and email address.
- Internet or other electronic network activity, such as pages viewed, episodes played, links clicked and the referring website.
- Approximate location (city, region and country) estimated from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not create inferences or profiles about you. We collect this information from you directly, from your browser or device, and through the analytics providers listed above. We use it for the business purposes described in “How we use information,” and we disclose it only to the service providers listed above for those purposes.
Your California rights. Under the CCPA, you have the right to:
- Know the categories of personal information we collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for collecting it, the categories of third parties we disclose it to, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information, so this right does not apply.
- Not be discriminated against for using any of your CCPA rights.
California “Shine the Light”. Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Utah residents
This section applies to Utah residents to the extent the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (“UCPA”) applies to us. Under the UCPA, you have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal data, and access that personal data.
- Delete personal data that you provided to us.
- Get a copy of personal data you provided to us, in a portable and readily usable format, where technically feasible.
- Opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising or the sale of your personal data. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
We do not process sensitive personal data as defined by the UCPA, and we will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Residents of other states
Residents of other states with consumer privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and Oregon, may have similar rights, which can include the right to correct personal data and to appeal our decision on a request. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
How to make a privacy request
To make a request, contact us through the contact form on this website and tell us which state you live in and what you are requesting. We will need to verify your identity, usually by confirming the email address you use, before acting on a request to know, access, correct or delete. We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend this by up to another 45 days and will tell you why. Requests are free of charge, though we may decline requests that are excessive or repetitive as permitted by law.
You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may ask the agent for proof of your signed permission and ask you to verify your identity directly with us.
How long we keep information
We keep emails you send us for as long as needed to deal with your message. Analytics and error data are kept according to the retention settings of PostHog, and only as long as they are useful for understanding and improving the site.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure.
Children’s privacy
This website and podcast are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Third party links
This website links to other websites and apps, such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube and social networks. This privacy policy does not cover them, so please read their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
How to contact us
If you have questions about this policy or want to use your privacy rights, please contact us through the contact form on this website.
More about cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way. We use them to measure how the site is used and to remember your cookie choice. We do not use advertising cookies.
Here are the cookies and similar technologies used on our website:
| Cookie type | Name | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog | ph_<project key>_posthog | Stores a random visitor ID and session information so we can measure usage and link errors to the visit where they happened. Expires after 1 year. |
| Cookie preference (local storage) | anwd-analytics-consent | Remembers whether you opted out of analytics. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. |
All major browsers let you block cookies and delete cookies already stored on your device, usually in the browser’s privacy or settings menu. You can block all cookies, or allow them only for websites you choose. If you block cookies, the site will still work, but we will not be able to remember your cookie choice.
